Code of Conduct

Code of Conduct

In Australia, only migration agents registered with the Office of the Migration Agents Registration Authority (OMARA) are allowed to give immigration assistance. Registered migration agents (RMAs), including those who operate and have offices overseas, must act in accordance with the Code of Conduct for registered migration agents. Compliance with the Code of Conduct is regulated by the OMARA. It sets knowledge and practice standards, investigates complaints and imposes disciplinary sanctions.

At present, there is no requirement for migration agents operating outside Australia to be registered before providing these services; they operate without OMARA scrutiny and provide services of an unknown standard. The Australian Government is committed to protecting you and your interests. It forbids unregistered migration agents from operating in Australia by making it an offence punishable by imprisonment of up to 10 years.

So act to protect yourself and your interests; engage an RMA who you can be confident has the knowledge and experience in migration procedure to deal with your migration needs. The outcome of your application depends on it.
